Course PROJECTS AND SCHEDULE

1.- Project:  Form/Space/Object Making

Concept: Architecture is a system of order, the power of design and structure                               

Objectives: Design a Form/Space Object that follows systems and rules

Exercises Analog:

a) Tree Studies Pattern Recognition

b) 7 Rules of Order

c) Document the model using orthographic projections concept

Exercise Digital

a) Document the model using computer aided design

Four Weeks

a)       From the first letter of your name develop a display system by folding the plane.

One  Weeks

Project: Biomimicry and Sustainable Strategies from Nature

Concept: Science, Discovery the Science Design Method

Objective: Design your own D'Vinci Structure

Exercises:

a) Geometries in Nature

b) Geometries in your body

c) Platonic Studies

d) Fractal Making

Two  Week

Reading:

 

 

Project: Figure Ground

Concept: Negative and Positive in a the Urban Fabric, Building and Object

Objective: Design an object based on negative and positive discovery and process

Exercises:

a) Silhouette Finding

b) Revolve the Silhouette

c) Design Cup/Vase

One Week

Reading:

 

 

 

Project:: Documenting Order

Concept: The relationship of Math, Art and Architecture

Objective: Create a space inspired and generated from a painting

Exercises:

a) Discover the geometries, proportion, pattern and rhythm from a painting like Picasso, Mondrian, Klee, Diego Rivera, Orozco, and others.

b) Use this as regulating lines and elements to design a space

c) Find the Regulating lines, geometry, proportion and order from a floor plan. Use the floor plan of a famous architect like Frank Lloyd Wright or the architect you are studying.

a) Discover your behavior and its association with an animal. Transform your self to the animal in at least three stages, use clay and then 3d modeling
