Knowledge of ONE

There has been an unspoken agreement that economic growth and technological innovation exhaustively define progress. As such, ecological problems are addressed through a host of ad hoc measures... While such projects are to be encouraged, they all happen, apparently without contradiction, alongside programs designed to increase our nation's competitiveness in an extractive global economy. Such contradictions belie the attitude that ecological threats are not traceable to fundamental philosophical inadequacies, such as a human-nature dualism and a fragmented way of knowing that seeks dominion over our environment. Education is still considered a strictly social process that takes place essentially apart from and in opposition to the non-human environment... An ecological educational theory offers hope of reconnecting our many educational concerns while resolving contradictions that undermine the very purpose of education."

We live at a time that demands from us to ask fundamental questions before we can start any design activity. In the course Computer for Designers we need to understand that the Designer's most important knowledge is the ability to create. In addition to this fundamental concept we will include how does the use of computers or technology affect the Design Process?

Although there are some tremendous progress in civilization and exiting technologies emerging everyday, a large part of our population from all social classes are disconnected to the process of knowing, creating and contributing.

KNOWLEDGE OF ONE is a framework of understanding that will empower you by knowing the connection of things, the meaning of knowing, our relationship to nature and the unique mission you have in this planet earth. This framework is indispensable for you to become a Designer of our times and computers are used just as many other tools we have used during our evolution.

The Knowledge of ONE goes back to the essence of our understanding of who we are?

As you can see the question above appears to be a question that belongs in a philosophy class or  in any other social science class, and it is exactly this simplistic perception and separation of knowledge that have destroyed the fundamental understanding that integrates our mind, body and spirit need.

At one point in history the leaders of our western civilization decided to separate each of this entities in separate and isolated fields of studying. It is in this divorce of knowledge that we need to go one step back.

How can we develop our ability to create?

 

Fundamental principles of human kind and its relationship to nature and the universe  gains a leverage to obtain more resources and understand more viewpoints and accepted current norms.

To know you should know how to know and the more you know the faster you can know.

So, you have heard that knowledge is power.

It is amazing how much knowledge is available, especially with the internet. But how do you udr all that knowledge to find what is relevant. So how can you acquire more knowledge in less time. There are many ways. Set aside a small amount of time per day or week to read. Set a goal of what you want to read and what you want to learn that is new. Still there is a lot to read.


If you were to take it one step further, to gain a competitive edge, Book Summaries are a great tool. You have complete books summarized in pages with all the necessary information you need, and less the's, and's etc.


One of the built in feature of human being is his dual dynamic nature in the world of action and thought. He always thinks and always works. These two characteristics generates knowledge and deeds (or actions). It is difficult to find a human beings sitting idle thinking not and working not.
As a result, mankind can be of various types concerning knowledge and actions. There could those people who has no knowledge but does lots of actions. There could be those who does little action but they are owners of great knowledge. There could be those who have none: no action and no knowledge (very rare). There could be those who has both: knowledgeable and does actions. So, these are all possible 4 permutations of actions and knowledge. Now we could go further with similar permutations when we classify knowledge into beneficial knowledge and harmful knowledge. Similarly, we even go further when we classify actions into righteous actions and evil actions. Because of the degree and magnitude of all these possibilities, it is hard to find two people unique in their knowledge and practice. Every human being is unique in terms of knowledge and deeds, as they are unique in their finger prints and iris.
